StorFile

StorFile is a device driver that creates virtual disk drives backed by a file. This evaluation version supports 64-bit Windows 10 and later and creates a 256MB disk. The source code is available from www.perisoft.net/miniport.

Installation

Run install from a command prompt. A virtual disk drive will automatically be created.The virtual disk data is placed in the file c:\vdisk0.dat.

Alternatively a manual installation can be performed by running hdwwiz. Follow the menus and add the StorFile adapter.

StorFile Utility (sf.exe)

This optional utility can be used to create or remove additional virtual disk drives. Run this utility with no parameters from a command prompt to see the command line options.

Removal

Run uninstall from a command prompt.

Alternatively, a manual uninstall can be performed by running devmgmt and removing the StorFile adapter listed under Storage controllers.
